Visitors can expect a diverse program with themed forums, a start-up area, a trade fair congress, and inspiring formats – for everyone who wants to actively shape the future of care.

Professionals and decision-makers in the care industry can now secure their tickets for ALTENPFLEGE 2026. From April 21 to 23, 2026, Messe Essen will be transformed into the most important meeting place for everyone who wants to actively shape the future of care.

Under the patronage of Federal Health Minister Nina Warken, ALTENPFLEGE 2026 presents innovations, expertise, and practical solutions for inpatient and outpatient care. “ALTENPFLEGE 2026 is a key driver for the future of care in Germany. As patron, I support this important forum, which brings together innovation, expertise, and social responsibility – for care that puts people at the center,” emphasizes Nina Warken. Beate Fischer, event manager of ALTENPFLEGE, adds: “ALTENPFLEGE is much more than a trade fair – it is the heart of the industry. This is where all the relevant players come together to network, learn from each other, and shape the care of tomorrow together. With the new formats and focal points in Essen, we are sending a strong signal for innovation and quality.”

Innovations and inspiration for tomorrow's care

The trade fair covers all topics related to generalist care and provides inspiration for new forms of living as well as for the use of robotics and digitalization in inpatient and outpatient care. Around 50 start-ups and young companies will present their groundbreaking solutions in the Special Show AVENEO – from smart technology and digital tools to new concepts for improving quality of life and reducing the burden of everyday care. The best ideas from the Newcomer Challenge will be presented live at the trade fair. Visitors can also look forward to the “Robotics & AI” joint exhibition area in cooperation with VDMA HealthTech. It will present the latest developments and practical applications in the field of intelligent technologies.

The program is complemented by a wide range of themed forums: In the Digital & Innovation Forum, visitors can learn how AI and robotics are changing the care industry. The Catering, Housekeeping & Living Forum is dedicated to nutrition, hygiene, and sustainable care concepts. New this year is the Care Perspectives Forum, which offers professionals practical tips for mental health, resilience, and self-care.

From talks to awards: the best of practice and innovation

Visitors to the large stage at the ALTENPFLEGE ARENA can expect inspiring talks, interactive sessions, and entertainment formats. The accompanying trade fair congress organized by Vincentz Network brings together executives, scientists, and practitioners to discuss current challenges and present forward-looking solutions – with keynotes, panels, and over 40 sessions.
