Lumova is an autonomous Movement Island for care homes, developed by ETH Zurich students. Placed in common areas or corridors, it enables short, spontaneous movement moments throughout the day. Residents move in place, explore virtual walking journeys, interact with animals, and gradually master cognitive-motor tasks. Lumova works fully offline, adapts to different ability levels, and supports seated and standing participation. The system is currently piloted in nine Swiss care homes.
