Hygie® is a well thought-out hygiene system that aims to prevent nosocomial infections and at the same time ensure comfortable use for both patients and carers.
The system consists of special hygiene bags equipped with absorbent pads. These inserts solidify bodily excretions within seconds and trap pathogens and unpleasant odours. The bags can simply be closed and disposed of with household or special waste.
The superabsorbent pads solidify up to 700 ml of bodily waste into a gel within 30 seconds.
The hygienic handling of bodily waste from patients and care recipients is an important prerequisite for preventing infections. Excretions are the source of the spread of a large number of pathogenic and antibiotic-resistant microorganisms such as Clostridium difficile and norovirus. In order to minimise the risk of transmission through bedpans, bowls, urinals, toilets, etc., the handling of excretions represents a major challenge for medical staff and nursing staff on a daily basis. Even the smallest amounts of faeces - invisible to the naked eye - can contain infectious doses of pathogens that can be transmitted from patient to patient or to the hands of nursing staff through cross-contamination.
